Abstract

This paper reviews how information technology has shaped the operations of various institutions of society including businesses, education, governments, corporate governance, and society at all levels in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The key focus is on the ways in which these entities are leveraging information technology to cope up with the sudden disruption and survive in the current environment. The present crisis has had both positive and negative impact on the productivity of institutions, leading to a new normal state that would shape the future of the workplaces. The paper discusses the current state, lessons learned, and innovative solutions that some organizations have used to minimize the impact of future crises. It discusses how to leverage digital transformation strategies to get lasting boost in efficiencies and services to stakeholders.
