Abstract

In March 2020, working conditions at most traditional offices changed overnight. Employees who spent a career working in a shared location with their co-workers and teammates were sent home to work. With this abrupt change in working conditions, organizations quickly looked for ways to supplement communication and create structural support for their new remote workforce. As we move towards the future many more employees will work remotely more than they did in the past. This paper begins a discussion on a research area that previously has little substantiated data and connects to the question of the wide spread adoption of video technology increasing communication effectiveness.
